BZZZZZ! Ionic Compounds Conduct!
Ionic compounds also conduct electricity. This means that the electric charges are allowed to move around, however in solid form, they do not conduct because the ions are trapped and vibrate slightly. Then we can also conclude that when the solid is broken free such as melting or phase changes, they can resume conducting.
